Sweating

Sweating

Sweating is a losing moisture through the skin. It is a vital part of body's self-regulation mechanism. Excessive sweating can be very annoying.  It can be made worse by anxiety, exercise, obesity and heat.

The sweat glands are about 2 milion all over the skin and they contribute to the excret of water-soluble and fat-soluble toxins from the body. The skin is the largest organ of the body and along with many functions it is a reserve organ of  kidney (for eliminating the water-soluble toxins through the sudoriferous glands) and the liver (for elimination of fat-soluble toxins through the sebaceus glands). The toxins are those that cause that unpleasant odour.

There are two kind of sudoriferous glands.

-  The apocrine glands. They are found mainly in the armpits and genital areas. They are stimulated by emotional and nervous changes. Their secretion contains urea which relates to the odour.

-  The eccrine glands. They cover the whole body and are stimulated by heat to keep you cool.

Sebaceus (oil) glands are found mainly in the face and scalp but also all over the skin except the palms and soles. This glands produse sebum which is odourless but its bacterial breakdown can produse odour.

Excess of sweating usually affects the armpits, hands and feet. It often begins at puberty and may last for life if you don't prevent it. Clothing becomes wet, but the main problem is the unpleasant body odour which remains even after a shower.

The exercises, high inverontmental temperature and obesity as a reason for exces of sweating are not a subject here.

Reasons for unusual excess of sweating:

- First check the side efects of your medication. Some medicine cause sweating.

- Heavy sweating is a symptom of thyroid disorders. Your thyroid gland needs a treatment in order to work properly. I have observed this in cases with fibromyalgia.

- Body temperature is controled by hypothalamus and sympathetic nervous system. Hypothalamus, congested with toxins can not send correct signals and  can cause sweating.

- Liver, congested with toxins could activate the sebaceus glands in order the glands to take part of toxins eliminations.

- Some enzime and hormonal reactions need activisation. The body increase internal temperature. Starts sweating.

- Menopause - in attempt to sintesy additional hormons which normaly are low - hot flashes and sweating.
