Fibromyalgia
Day 1 - I didn’t have the usual sick feeling. I also noticed that I didn’t feel bloated like I usually do.
Day 2 - Again I didn’t feel bloated or nausea, which was nice. Still had some muscle tension and a slight tension headache but I didn’t take any pain killers... Just forgot to mention I didn’t have any lower abdominal cramps today.
Day 3 - Well today surprisingly I didn’t get up with a tension headache! It was really nice to have a clear head. My muscle aches and pains were less than normal and my sore throat was not as bad as it usually is. I didn’t feel bloated, my constipation and cramps have gone.
Day 5 - I felt more awake and had more energy than usual.
Day 8 - I feel like my digestive system is cleaner, the muscles in my neck are not as tense as they used to be.
Day 10 - I didn't feel aches, pains or stiffness at all, other than stiffness in my hand and feet.... I've also found that my skin feels really soft especially on my face, which is what I told you earlier on the phone..... I feel very alert at the same time.
Day 12 - I felt very alert this morning. I just found it took less time than yesterday to settle down and study. I felt that my head was much clearer when it came to studying. The only muscle stiffness I felt was in the hands and feet. I have had a lot of energy today its nice to feel awake and alert and not have a fuzzy head, I also felt a little happy too :-))
Day 13 - I still feel alert and not as tired as I usually do, my brain has actually been working!! ha ha!!. I didn't have any other stiffness as usual and I'm finding it easier to stretch, its not as painful as it used to be, it’s more fun and relaxing.
Day 14 - I have to admit since I started the treatment it’s got much better; and I'm finding that I'm getting better at waking up and concentrating on usually routines much better. It’s definitely improved since!!
Day 20 - I don't feel as irritable as I used to be.
Day 26 - I also keep getting up an hour before my alarm goes off.
Day 32 - I find that eating regimen throughout the day has helped me concentrate and focus properly.
Day 35 - I didn’t have any muscle aches and pains.
Day 36 - I am very alert and cheerful and my muscle aches and pain had gone.'

Fibromyalgia + Alcohol abuse;
“I'm already mixing in different parts of the eating regimen. Christmas! Yes, it's a tricky time to start a diet, but my motivation is high to remove the pain.”
“I've also seen my doctor, and he reassured me that there is no problem to follow the program.”
“This morning I spent time on exercises. They seem to help, as the pain is less. I'll do this each day now, and I plan to build up the time on this when on holiday and have no other demands on my time.” M.K.

Fibromyalgia (email regarding 'Fibromyalgia Recovery Program')
Hi Iskra, it is nice to hear from you again...When I get exhausted, I do all the wrong things and I did just that the end of this last week. I had an exhausting week with my company. The good news in all that is that I proved to myself that food is a major issue for my fibromyalgia. Without doing exercise or anything else, improving my diet, with your suggestions, had major effect on me. I was feeling less pain especially in my knees after a week of just doing a few things you suggested. After one week of using your diet things improved for me. There were actually moments when I realized that I was not having any pain. Amazing how much effect diet has on us, but I am now a believer. I have not completely read all your words but I have found so much familiarity in them.
In your last work, I found your information so interesting. I found out this year that I have vitamins deficiency but had no idea that it had anything to do with fibro except for the fatigue it causes. I took extra supplements but didn’t take it seriously after I finished the prescription. I am pretty sure that I have had fibro/chronic fatigue all my life. I remember doing all the things that teenagers do but I dealt with fatigue. I could always keep up except that at some time I always had to take time to rest. As an adult, I remember going on vacations and going at a steady pace and in a few days, I had to drop out and rest while everyone else kept going. When I exercised, the more I did, it seemed, the more tired I got. Everybody else was energized and I got more tired if I tried to do too much. All this was manageable until about 10 or 12 years ago. I had a wreck. It seems that from that day, my fatigue became more extreme, my pain came to the surface… no broken bones, no injuries that showed, just 24 hours, 7 days a week, some kind of discomfort. And gradually over the years, I have given in to it, I guess, because it steadily got worse.
From everything that I have experienced since I started reading your work, I feel sure that if I follow your diet, my life will improve. Hopefully reasonable exercise without trying to keep up with everyone else will do even more… will do better now and let you know my progress.
Thanks,
Suzanne

"On 22nd October 2004, I visited Iskra to discuss my painful hands and feet. I had arthritis for 9 years. I have had conventional NHS drug treatment, but it wasn't effective.
Iskra advised a diet and exercise Programme, which gave success in just 3 months.
My hands and feet are virtually pain-free and my quality of life has dramatically improved.
Iskra, thank you very much for your help. Your System has proved very successful and I will continue to use it to ensure that I stay well. "
Warm regards

"Having suffered with Osteoarthritis for 15 years and accounting for many conventional prescriptions and hospital visits, I decided to make an appointment to discuss the "Iskra Health System". The Regimen was relatively easy to follow. I have changed the way that I look at food and the way I look after myself. I have not informed my GP of my visits to Iskra as I have not had any need to visit him!!! ISKRA HEALTH SYSTEM IS WORKING!!!
I have suffered excruciating pain in the past, which at times has been very difficult to cope with, and also difficult for close ones to witness.
After my first visit to Iskra, I experienced two days of pain, and since then I haven't looked back. I am able to take part in things I would have normally only been able to watch; dancing and motorbike riding.
Thank you for the Iskra Healing System!!"

Refer to 'Clinical Medicine, A textbook for medical students and doctors'-Kumar, Clark : "Osteoarthritis. It is the most common type of arthritis, occurring in about 10% of the population and in 50% of those aged over 60. It is a disease of cartilage, which becomes eroded and progressively thinned as the disease proceeds.
The pattern of development of joint disease in osteoarthritis is additive.
The disease moves slowly from joint to joint and also progresses very slowly (in most cases) within individual joints. Its greatest impact is on weight-bearing joints such as hips and knees, and involvement of these joints is the commonest cause of disability in the elderly population.
Management: There are three main types of treatment: drugs, physical measures and surgery. Obese patients should be encouraged to lose weight but, apart from this, it is seldom possible to alter the aetiological factors of the disease.
Drug treatment: There is no specific therapy to control the disease process.
Physical therapy: The application of heat mat provide pain relief.
Exercises: Hydrotherapy is particularly useful. Walking stick may be useful.
Surgery: Joint replacements."

"My back pain disappeared and I no longer need to take painkillers"
Lucy, Poland
Refer to 'Clinical Medicine, A textbook for medical students and doctors' - Kumar, Clark:
Back pain: Back pain is extremely common. It can be mild and transient, or chronic and disabling. In many cases (30%), the exact cause is not established. It is foolish to label such patient as having 'spondylosis' or arthritis of the spine, terms that merely cause anxiety. It is better to use term such as non-specific low back pain and explain what this means.
Treatment: Immobilization in the acute stage and prolonged appropriate antibiotic therapy.'

“I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease in February 2000. All the Doctors said that it would last a lifetime.
I kept a strict IHS diet for two years. It was hard work but on the whole I managed it.
After two years (that is 2002), I found I could eat whole grains without getting my symptoms like cramps, diarrhea, constipation, weight loss etc. I began to test some foods like pasta, pizza and bread, three of the things that I had missed most during 2000 -2002.
I began using small amounts, but later increased to larger and larger amounts.
I felt just as I had before the Doctors diagnosis. I contacted my Doctor who took new blood samples and believe it or not, the tiny villi on the inside of my intestine that absorb nutrition, had returned to their normal condition and size. I was told ‘It's a miracle, you are well’.
To hear those words gave me an unbelievable sense of freedom. Since that day I have felt fine, none of the symptoms have returned.
I believe keeping Iskra's strict diet from the start helped me.”
Jennie (21 years) from Sweden, written March 2005
Refer to 'Clinical Medicine, A textbook for medical students and doctors' - Kumar, Clark:
Food allergy and food intolerance.
Celiac disease (gluten-sensitive enteropathy). Celiac disease can present at any age. In infancy it appears after weaning on to gluten-containing foods.
The peak incidence in adults is in the third and fourth decade, with a female preponderance.
The symptoms are very variable and often non-specific with tiredness and malaise. Common symptoms include diarrhea or steatorrhoea, abdominal discomfort or pain and weight loss. Mouth ulcers and angular stomatitis are frequent and can be intermittent. Rare complications include tetany, osteomalacia, neurological symptoms such as paraesthesia, muscle weakness or peripheral neuropathy, or gross malnutrition with peripheral edema. Atopy, autoimmune disease, including thyroid disease, insulin-dependent diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, chronic liver disease, and fibrosing allergic alveolitis. Anemia. Malnutrition.
Treatment and Management: A gluten-free diet usually produces a rapid improvement. The long-term effects of this low gluten intake are uncertain.
Complications: A few patients do not improve on a strict diet (unresponsive 'celiac disease'). Often no cause for this is found. The incidence of small-intestinal lymphoma is increased in celiac disease. Also carcinoma of the small bowel and esophagus, extra-gastrointestinal cancers."

-MILK ALLERGY-
Hallo Iskra,
Besten Dank!

- Kumar, Clark:
Food allergy and food intolerance. Some foods, e.g. milk, egg, fish and
wheat, have a very strong tendency to sensitize, while others are fairly innocuous. Cross-sensitization between related vegetables, e.g. soybeen and peas, also occurs. However, the nature of the actual allergen in any particular food is still uncertain.
Symptoms of allergy may be immediate or delayed: Immediate symptoms start within a few hours of ingestion of the particular food, with swelling of the lips or tongue, vomiting, rhinorrhoea, urticaria, eczema, asthma or migraine.
Delayed symptoms may develop hours or even days after the ingestion and causal relationship between the ingestion of the food and the symptoms is often difficult to prove.
Management: Avoidance of suspected food; Desensitization therapy using injections or oral or nasal administration has been used for immediate reaction, but with little success; In allergic diseases where the antigen is known, e.g. cow's milk protein intolerance in children and celiac disease, patients should be treated with a milk-free or gluten-free diet, respectively;
There is no specific drug therapy.

Refer to 'Clinical Medicine, A textbook for medical students.UK suffer from psychiatric ill-health. Most of the illnesses are minor mood disorders, taking the form of various combinations of depression and anxiety, and about two-thirds are short-lived in nature and clear within 6 months. However, about 5% of general practice consultations involve patients suffering from major depression requiring energetic treatment - schizophrenia and manic-depressive illnesses, but they are much less common . The common disorders are associated
with physical disease or caused by certain physical treatments as well as disorders related to alcohol and other forms of drug use and abuse. Two conditions presenting in women and characterized by disturbance of mood may well be related to manic-depressive disorders. These are the premenstrual syndrome and puerperal affective disorders.
Physical and psychiatric disorders often coincide:
Patients with psychiatric problems can present with physical manifestations (e.g. irritable bowel syndrome);
Chronic or severe physical ill-health can result in psychiatric disorder (e.g. depression in the setting of a chronic painful disorder);
Psychiatric symptoms can be part of a physical disease complex (e.g.depression in hypothyroidism).
Treatment: It involves physical, psychological and social therapies.
Hospitalization is required in case of severely depressed, potentially suicidal patients and in mania. Depression and mania do not respond to psychotherapy, and both require energetic physical treatment. Simple support, reassurance, sympathy and the opportunity to express distress and negative feelings are often sufficient to bring about relief of minor depressive episodes.
Physical treatment of depression - antidepressants, ECT (electroconvulsive therapy).
The antidepressants have a number of side-effects: dry mouth, constipation, tremor, blurred vision, urinary retention, postural hypotension, Cardiac effects (ECG changes, arrhythmias), lowered seizure threshold, increased appetite, weight gain, difficulty in sleeping, sedation, mania, agranulocytosis, liver damage.
Electroconvulsive therapy - Serious complications are rare. Short-term retrograde amnesia, temporary defect in new learning. The mode of action of ECT is unclear.

"I was diagnosed with a sinus condition, which led to the throat and mucus membrane in the stomach.
After following Iskra's prescription the changes began to happen and after four to five weeks the condition had cleared up completely.
Through this period I had more energy throughout the day also I slept better than I had done before.
I feel a lot healthier with this change and will continue with my complete change in diet.
Thanks Iskra for your help and advice."

Iskra made me an eating plan for my first 2 weeks and then a diet with various vitamin supplements.
I had some fatty deposits as lumps on my body. All have gone.
I have lost some excess weight and I feel much better in myself."
